In his fight against Bradley, Scar reveals a reconstruction transmutation circle from his brother's research now tattooed on his other arm. Just as Ed's group starts to gain the upper hand, and despite the arrival of Greed, Father grabs the four sacrifices and uses them along with Hohenheim for his transmutation circle, absorbing all the souls in Amestris. This gives him enough power to open the Earth's gate, allowing Father to open another gate in the sky and absorb the being within, which Father calls "God."
