Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: Matthew is shot by bank robbers when he notices a suspicious looking man inside the bank and goes in unarmed to investigate. Even though Dr. Mike tells him he must rest, he runs off after U.S. Marshall Elias Birch (guest star Willie Nelson) in an attempt to prove that he is man enough to be sheriff.
