In 1990, it was 50 years since Bugs Bunny first appeared on film in a recognizable form and outwitted hunter Elmer Fudd. To commemorate the subsequent half-century-long career of the most famous cartoon rabbit in history, this prime-time television special was produced and featured several Hollywood stars stating their affection and admiration for Bugs, intercut with clips from various of Bugs� cartoons and comments by legendary cartoon directors Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng. A tribute was also made to the late Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs and countless other cartoon characters.
