Chow Yun Fat stars as a hit man who falls in love in this crime thriller. After immigrating to Hong Kong from Vietnam, Nguyen (Yun Fat) finds work at a film studio and moonlights as a hired killer. He meets reporter Vicky (Rosamund Kwan) when she traces the chemicals used in a gas attack to the movie studio. They fall in love, but after Vicky's father is murdered, Nguyen must accept that he's to blame. Meanwhile, a psychotic soldier stalks him.
